Answer & Rescue

This is what the LORD says: “In the time of my favor, I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will rescue you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and reassign its desolate inheritances, to say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!'” Isaiah 49:8-9a

You and I have the awesome privilege of living together in the time of God’s favor. How do I know? Because rescue has come through Jesus and we have received the Holy Spirit. We live in the midst of what countless generations yearned for!

Knowing that, allow the depth of the promise found in the above passage to sink in: “I will answer you…I will rescue you.”

I will answer you.
I will rescue you.

What an amazing guarantee from the Creator and Sustainer of All! As you approach God in prayer for the many things which I’m sure are on your heart, I challenge you to do so with the awareness of those living under the favor of God–that He hears, answers, and rescues. This awareness changes the fervency and focus of what we pray for, and gives us permission to pray with unfettered expectation.

But the most powerful part of this is what He does with us when we have been liberated and living under His favor. The answer and rescue we receive are not for us; these are not given for our comfort or our benefit–He sends us out to free captives and shine His light in dark places. We are called to a life of great purpose and adventure in Him!

I can’t wait to see what happens as SLW, my family, and you, reader, continue to embrace the call of being rescued to rescue and Living SENT —  these truths will grip our hearts and set our continued trajectory as people called out of darkness into light.
